New Projects

Hey all, just wanted to update you on some projects that I have recently completed. They include my key fobs, quilters wallet, my grommet purse, my mom's Christmas present (Quilt...shhh dont tell her) and my professional tote. Next up will be my japanese pouch. Hope you enjoy these projects. I am very impressed with my professional tote. I have really enjoyed working on it. It turned out much better than I even hoped.

New Adventures...wide open spaces

Now that I have my sewing room all together, and I seem to be adding new stuff all the time....I guess theres nothing left to do except make some crafts. I have some pictures of a few things to add that I have made. I started making keychains& I really love them. I have also been making hairbows. I am taking a few classes in October...one to make a professional tote (not sure what makes one professional and one not, but oh well). The other is for a quilt, It is a two part class and I think I will give the quilt to my mom for Christmas. I told Josh (the sweetest boyfriend to ever live...yes EVER) that my OCD gets in the way of my craft making and sewing...I tend not to start someting if I dont think I can finish it in the same sitting...tends to limit my creativity...but it is becuase I dont like to leave a mess (or more like things out of their proper place) ha ha...I have to work on that.

Exciting news for this year

Gina's (Gina Berninas) on Kingston Pike will be having a sewing class. They are going to offer 6 different classes in this session and the cost is $150 plus supplies. I took too long and now the classes are full that that I could attend in the evenings...so sad :( But I have sent an email to ask for info on the next set of evening classes. If you want to get back into sewing or want to start learning fresh...that would be a great class to start with. Talk to you soon!

Well, I have dabbed in the world of sewing....and I love it. I have made several things at this point, but I still have TONS to learn. I have made pajama pants, eye glass cases, small bags, wristlets, a wallet and purse. I am very excited and plan to share some pics on my blog soon. I would also like to do some video's to share with people who are looking for ideas and projects and have no luck...like I have been lately. I have only found a couple of good sites for shared ideas.

Learning to Sew

I am just getting into sewing. I come from a line of "sewing" women but never really had a love for sewing till now. I actually used to work at a sewing factory (Anyone say 501); but I was only there for 9 months and was on the hem line...so my ongoing joke was if it wasnt in a circle; I didnt know how to sew it.

I have noticed there arent very many websites out there that I can find that give good tips and tricks when you are just learning the basics. I wish there was more info out there to pull from. I am a visual person, I like to look at what others do (cool things, some sites are just really lame). So let's begin our sewing adventure .......together.
